The Major Matt Mason toy line introduced in 1966 captured the excitement of the early space race with a unique, bendable astronaut figures designed for imaginative play. Unlike rigid action figures of the time, Major Matt Mason and his friends featured a rubbery body over a wire armature that allowed kids to pose him in realistic zero-gravity stances, making him perfect for space adventures. The line expanded to include a full cast of characters, space stations, and vehicles like the Space Crawler and Space Station, all inspired by Apollo-era missions. With its mix of science fiction and real-world space exploration, Major Matt Mason became one of the era’s most distinctive and memorable toy lines, but finding the figures in good condition is not small feat as the wire armature that allowed them to pose so well was prone to metal fatigue and breakage from over use.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
