Here’s a shot of actor Patrick Swayze back in 1979, this was taken around the time the film, Skatetown USA came out. The film sought to capitalize on the rollerskating fad of the ’70s and features Scott Baio, Flip Wilson, Maureen McCormick, Ron Palillo and Ruth Buzzi. Patrick Swayze had the leading role as the skater “Ace”, this was actually his first movie performance. The film centers on a Los Angeles roller disco called Skatetown, U.S.A., where a rivalry between two skaters (Patrick Swayze and Greg Bradford) culminates in a contest.
