Description

Ironically, it takes more water to produce a plastic bottle than what it will carry – with around 1.47 quarts (1.39 liters) needed to produce a 1.06 quart (one liter) bottle. That’s less than what it takes to produce a bottle of soft drink, but still lots for a product you can get from the tap. Around the world, we spend $100 billion on bottled water every year. At around $1.22, your average bottle is 300 times more expensive than tap water. In 2006, it was estimated 17 million barrels of oil were needed to meet the demand for bottled water in America alone. To imagine the amount of oil used to produce virgin plastic bottles, picture a bottle filled one-quarter of the way with crude oil. Most plastic is generally thought to take at least 450 years to fully biodegrade. But bottles made with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) don’t biodegrade. They are broken into smaller fragments in the ocean by light and end up harming sea life. Think bottled water is a matter of taste? Bottled water companies like to promote their products alongside images of natural springs and ice-topped mountains, but many of them are simply elaborately filtered from the tap. Most people can’t tell the difference, according to various studies. Don’t like the taste of the tap water where you are at? Adding a simple bolt-on filter to your faucet, using a filtrating pitcher, or a more complex inline reverse osmosis filter system will not only further purify your tap water and change the taste, but most every filter option will exceed the purity of even the fanciest, most expensive brand of bottled water.

Sizing

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
