Description
Having opened in 1928, Flannery’s Restaurant was already a fixture on Route 1 in Penndel, Pennsylvania when the area really started to get built up following World War II. With more restaurants in town, owner Jim Flannery began looking for a way to get more attention from highway traffic passing through town. It took him a while to come up with an idea, but in 1967, Jim had a plan and put it in motion. He purchased a 1954 Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation, aka the Super Connie, and had it trucked to Penndel. It was mounted on pylons over the restaurant with its 72-seat interior now serving as the Constellation Lounge. The restaurant’s new airborne cocktail lounge was a hit, and quickly became one of the region’s most widely recognized highway landmarks. Flannery sold the restaurant in 1980, which operated under several names until 1997 when the lot was sold to build a convenience store. That same year, the Constellation was dismantled and donated it to the Air Mobility Museum in Dover, Delaware, and Flannery’s was razed.

Sizing
Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
