Beginning with a single store at Century Plaza in Birmingham, Alabama in 1977, Just For Feet became one of the largest and fastest growing athletic chains in America. By 1999, Just For Feet had over 140 superstores in 25 states. Most of the Just For Feet stores were located on outparcels adjoining major malls in cities, primarily in the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest. Several features helped to distinguish Just for Feet stores from its competitors, including in-store basketball courts, walls of TVs airing sporting events, in-store appearances by professional athletes, loud rock and dance music setting the scene, and in-store snack bars. Despite things looking up for Just For Feet, a 1999 game day TV spot ended up being their undoing after the ad was decried as being racist and insensitive. The sharp decline in sales helped to expose company executives who were engaged in widespread accounting fraud, leading to Just For Feet’s demise. In November 1999, Just For Feet filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and in February 2000, the company was forced into Chapter 7. In 2000, Footstar acquired Just For Feet, operating them for a few more years while closing stores, the last one closing in 2004 before they themselves went bankrupt.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
