There was a moment in 1970 when someone decided that what people really wanted was to have dinner served on huge wood planks while their waiter randomly sang songs to them. If you are thinking that is one of the most absurd ideas ever and that it was a total flop, you are half right. It was an absurd idea, but for some unknown reason, people loved it, and they came in droves, typically waiting 2-3 hours on Friday and Saturday nights. After opening up in on Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica, The Great American Food & Beverage Co. went on to open several other locations, all serving generous portions of food on large planks. Every staff member had to be able to sing, dance, and play at least one instrument, and be able to jump into song at any moment and as such, many future entertainers cut their teeth at the G.A. as it was commonly referred to. No idea how this one made it as long as it did, but at least a couple locations made it into the ’80s before closing up shop and putting a lot of singing waiters out of a job.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
