Description

In 1906, Grover ‘Cleve’ Harrell started what was to become the Yellow Cab Company with horse-drawn carriages in Oklahoma City. A year later, he bought a Model T, and quickly realized that people were willing to pay more to ride in an automobile. He bought two more cars, and on a whim, painted one of them yellow. Although ridiculed by other cab drivers, he was pulling more riders than anyone else, so he painted all his cars yellow and business boomed. Harrell’s older brother, A. J. arrived in Oklahoma City, soon followed by their younger brother Marvin, and the three went into business together. In 1929, the Harrell brothers established Yellow Transit Freight Lines to serve small manufacturers for whom freight was slow and express rates were prohibitive.  Eventually the partnership dissolved, and A. J. took control of the freight lines, which he kept small until 1952 when an ownership group bought the freight company. During this time, Yellow helped pioneer the concept of consolidating small freight shipments into trailer loads. In 1968, the company name was changed from Yellow Transit Freight Lines to Yellow Freight System as they continued to grow. During the deregulation of interstate trucking, Yellow embarked on a massive restructuring by creating new distribution centers across the country to better serve customers. The company changed its name to Yellow Corporation in 1992, when it created a parent company, with Yellow Transportation, Inc. as its largest division.

Sizing

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
