Peter Murphy asserted that The Sisters of Mercy were “formed for Goths, by Goths, and by God, they were Goth,” but sister’s Andrew Eldritch has always disagreed, instead saying they were a rock band. And to that end, I would agree – they are a rock band… that sounds kinda goth and has lots of goth fans.
