They are the good guys… please remember that on Memorial Day

We don’t do political bullshit here, so before anyone says otherwise, there is nothing political about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice and if you feel otherwise, kindly fuck right off. The absolute least you can do is show the minimum amount of respect that your mom would expect you to and otherwise just not be a total shitbag. Now, contrary to what certain social media posts might have you believe, Memorial Day is more than just a ‘long weekend’ or an extra day to sleep in. Thankfully, we have good folks like Chris Pratt to help remind those who may have forgotten just what the meaning is:

“We count the names of each fallen soldier lest they be countless. They are the good guys. They run to the sound of gunfire. They know pain and suffering we never will. They have given us the most free and decent society planet earth has ever seen. We run the risk of losing that decency when we fail to instill gratitude in the minds of our youth or the perspective of what it actually means to be free should they never learn of the selfless sacrifice of our armed service members in the face of oppressive evil. So join me in showing support for our fallen. Take a quiet moment to really consider the sacrifice.”

– Chris Pratt

Although you probably know that Memorial Day honors those who have lost their lives serving in the U.S. military, you might be unaware of the origins behind the day of remembrance. To get yourself in the right frame of mind, check out some Memorial Day quotes and these nine fascinating facts about the holiday… read more >
