The Ford pinto certainly had its shortcomings, but the exploding thing aside, they were a great basis for a hot rod. Whether it was just air shocks and a set of mags wrapped in wide ovals or the full Monty V8 swap, the platform had tons of potential and many hot rodders made it happen.
