Cummins 4BT Powered '78 Ford F-250 4×4

You snooze, you lose, right? Well, that’s what happened to a whole bunch of us with this gorgeous Cummins 4BT-Powered 1978 Ford F-250 4×4. It closed on Bring a Trailer the other night, fetching almost $50k. While you can no longer write a check for it as I’m sure the new owner isn’t going to part with it anytime soon, you should still check out the build and enjoy the gallery as this is one sweet ride.

This 1978 Ford F-250 Custom is a 4×4 pickup that was modified under prior ownership with a 3.9-liter 4BT turbo diesel inline-four and a replacement five-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications are said to include a dual-range transfer case, an upgraded turbocharger and fuel injectors, an oversized intercooler, an electric cooling fan, a 6″ suspension lift, 17″ wheels with 37″ tires, Dana 60 rear axles, an aftermarket muffler, a back-up camera, and a Bluetooth-capable touchscreen stereo. The truck is finished in metallic green over brown upholstery, and it is said to have spent much of its life in Oregon until it was acquired by the seller in 2019 and relocated to Colorado. Subsequent work reportedly included a re-trim of the cab, fluid changes, and replacement of the wheels, tires, and clutch.
