Vietnam Beer Fridge

“I bought a small Japanese (Hitachi) refrigerator from the guy I was replacing, $25, Vietnam, December 1969. Beer was very cheap and what most of us depended on for liquid if in our hooch. Sodapop didn’t cut it day after day, and water provided on our own was via halazone tablets or catchment rainwater that unfortunately was always first filtered through dead bloated rats. The beer was 3.2 and too weak to worry about getting drunk. Bob, (Lynn), my replacement, brought it home where it resides to this day.” – Daniel J. Hein H/T>
