If you were a sailor whose ship called on Hong Kong in the '60s and '70s, odds are that you were a regular patron at Madame Wang's. Tucked away on Yau Tong Pier off Kwun Tong Tsai Bay, Madame Wang's was easy to get to without needing a taxi, so sailors made up the bulk of their customers. The place was decidedly divey and the kind of place where one could make a deal to procure anything from grey market jewelry and electronics to exotic drugs and female companionship. Long gone are the seedy days of Yau Tong Pier, though we're sure there are still a few Madame Wang's around Hong Kong today if you know where to look.
