The Ford FE engine was a legendary V8 platform produced between 1958 and 1976 for a wide range of Ford vehicles sold in North America, including the Thunderbird, Galaxie, Fairlane, Torino, Ranchero, and Mustang GT/CS. Developed to replace the aging Y-block V8, the FE series was engineered with growth and performance in mind, allowing Ford to expand the platform into increasingly larger and more powerful displacements ranging from 332 to 428 cubic inches. Available in both top-oiler and side-oiler configurations, the FE quickly earned a reputation for durability, versatility, and high-performance capability. The FE family became especially famous in motorsports during the 1960s, powering Ford’s dominance in NASCAR, drag racing, and endurance competition. Among the most celebrated versions was the high-performance 427 side-oiler, designed specifically for sustained high-RPM racing use. In 1964, Ford introduced the radical single overhead cam 427 FE, better known as the “Cammer,” in an effort to challenge Chrysler’s mighty 426 Hemi on the stock car circuit. Although NASCAR ultimately banned the engine before it could compete, the SOHC 427 became one of the most feared drag racing engines of its era. The Cammer was based on the proven 427 side-oiler FE block and retained much of the original architecture, though the traditional camshaft in the block was replaced by an idler shaft to drive the overhead cams. The design delivered exceptional airflow and high-RPM performance while maintaining the FE’s race-tested strength. Compared to Chrysler’s Hemi engines, the FE platform featured more compact dimensions, including tighter bore spacing and a lower deck height, giving Ford engineers a lightweight yet highly competitive foundation. Today, the FE engine family remains one of Ford’s most respected performance engines, prized by racers, restorers, and muscle car enthusiasts alike.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
