Automania '66 was a fictional international auto show created as part of the promotional world surrounding the groundbreaking 1966 racing film Grand Prix. The now-iconic Automania '66 t-shirt became closely associated with French singer, actress, and fashion icon Françoise Hardy, who wore it during several promotional appearances and behind-the-scenes visits to the film's production. Directed by John Frankenheimer, Grand Prix follows four Formula One drivers and the intertwined personal lives of the women who love them against a fictionalized version of the 1966 Formula One World Championship. Celebrated for its spectacular racing sequences, innovative in-car camera work, and immersive cinematography, the film was one of the ten highest-grossing releases of 1966. Its technical achievements earned it three Academy Awards and helped establish Grand Prix as one of the most influential motorsport films ever made.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
