Coffee Dan's traced its beginnings to 1879, when Daniel Davis—better known as Coffee Dan—opened a coffee shop in San Francisco with a lively cabaret tucked into the basement below. As the business grew, Dan and later his son, John, shifted their focus entirely to the restaurant, eventually closing the entertainment venue to concentrate on serving great coffee and hearty meals. During World War II, the demand for around-the-clock dining led Coffee Dan's to expand throughout Los Angeles, where its 24-hour locations became a favorite of defense plant workers, military personnel, and late-night crowds. After the war, the chain continued to grow with restaurants in other cities, earning a reputation as a dependable stop for breakfast at any hour. Although the last locations disappeared by the end of the 1970s, Coffee Dan's left behind a distinctive visual legacy. This design celebrates the chain's early 1960s rebrand, when Coffee Dan himself was reimagined as a cheerful cartoon mascot and many restaurants were updated with the bold, futuristic architecture of the Googie era.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
