Founded in 1918 as a specialty machine shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Northwest Auto Parts Company (NAPCO) shifted its focus during World War II to manufacturing drivetrain components for military vehicles, including the rugged four-wheel-drive trucks that proved invaluable during the war. When returning servicemen began looking for the same off-road capabilities in their civilian pickups, NAPCO recognized an opportunity. In 1947, the company introduced its Powr-Pak 4x4 conversion system, a bolt-on kit designed for trucks equipped with Hotchkiss drive. Using a Spicer transfer case with an optional dual-range high-low gearbox and readily available Detroit-made components, the Powr-Pak offered truck owners a practical way to add four-wheel drive without buying an entirely new vehicle. With demand for 4x4 pickups catching Detroit's Big Three automakers off guard, NAPCO's conversion kits eventually became available through factory-authorized dealerships, giving the company a significant boost in business. By 1960, however, major manufacturers were developing their own four-wheel-drive systems, prompting NAPCO to shift its attention toward heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including dump trucks and cement mixers. In 1965, the company sold its patents to Dana Corporation, bringing an end to an era in which the NAPCO name had been practically synonymous with four-wheel-drive trucks.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
