Breakin’ is a 1984 breakdancing musical directed by Joel Silberg and inspired in part by the 1983 documentary Breakin’ ’n’ Enterin’, which captured the emerging hip-hop and dance scene surrounding Los Angeles’ Radio-Tron club. Several dancers featured in the documentary went on to appear in Breakin’, lending the movie a connection to the culture it portrayed. The story follows a struggling jazz dancer who teams up with two street dancers, leading to performances, rivalries, and plenty of over-the-top dance battles. Critics largely tore it apart, but audiences had other ideas: Breakin’ became a box-office success and ranked among the top-grossing films of 1984. Along with its quickly produced sequel, it has since become a cult favorite—equal parts time capsule, camp spectacle, and celebration of early ’80s breakdancing culture.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
All sizes are provided in inches! Please note that variations in sizing of up to 1.5 inches are possible.
