The Muscular Dystrophy Labor Day Telethon was an annual fundraising marathon that aired each Labor Day weekend in the United States, raising money to support research, treatment, and care for children living with muscular dystrophy. Hosted by comedian, actor, singer, and filmmaker Jerry Lewis from its debut in 1966 through 2010, the telethon became one of the most recognizable charitable broadcasts in television history. During Lewis's tenure, the event raised more than $2.45 billion, and the children benefiting from its efforts became affectionately known as "Jerry's Kids." The inaugural telethon took place September 4–5, 1966, at New York City's Americana Hotel and was broadcast by a local independent television station. The set featured a talk show-style desk for Lewis and his guests, a performance stage backed by a 19-piece jazz orchestra, rows of volunteer phone operators, and a large tote board tracking donations in real time. Organizers had expected to display only six figures, but the response exceeded every prediction. When donations topped $1,002,114, Lewis famously climbed a ladder to hand-paint a seventh digit—a "1"—onto the tote board. The following year's broadcast raised an even greater $1,126,846, establishing a tradition of record-breaking generosity that would continue for decades and turn the Labor Day Telethon into an American institution.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
