The origins of what would eventually become STP are often tied to stories dating back to World War II. According to a long-circulated automotive legend, German engineers developed advanced lubricant additives to help military vehicles operate under extreme conditions, including the intense heat and abrasive environments of the North African campaign. American troops reportedly encountered German vehicles that seemed remarkably resistant to engine wear and overheating, leading to speculation that specialized oil treatments played a role in their reliability. While the exact path from these wartime technologies to postwar American products remains unclear, many German scientific and engineering innovations were studied and adopted by Allied nations after the war. Whether fact or folklore, these stories helped shape the mystique surrounding high-performance oil additives and the eventual rise of products such as STP, and for as long as racers have been racing, they've been running with the racer's choice!

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
