Growing Up in Las Vegas in the ’70s

“Circa 1977. This is Washington Blvd. looking West at Rainbow Blvd. The mound of dirt in the background is now the bridge that goes over the 95 Freeway (Rainbow Curve). Neither the freeway nor Rainbow Blvd. existed at the time. Tonopah Highway (Rancho Blvd.) was the road used to drive north. I caught a lot of lizards and did a lot of exploring in that desert. It was a great time to be a young kid in Las Vegas.” – Joe Whitaker H/T>
