Before pull tabs became standard, beer cans were opened with a pointed can opener known as a “church key.” Though the pull-tab can was invented in 1959, it didn’t become widespread until the mid-1960s, when the convenience of removable tabs also created a major litter problem. People routinely tossed the sharp metal tabs onto beaches, sidewalks, and parks, where unsuspecting barefoot victims often discovered them the hard way. In response, beverage companies launched anti-litter campaigns, embossing tabs with “Fight Litter” reminders and the familiar string-on-a-finger icon. Public service messaging spread to stores, parks, and beaches alike. By the mid-1970s, the stay-on tab largely replaced removable pull tabs, reducing the problem — though plenty of litterbugs still tossed entire cans wherever they pleased.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
All sizes are provided in inches! Please note that variations in sizing of up to 1.5 inches are possible.
