In 1969, accomplished off-road racer and self-taught mechanical innovator Drino Miller teamed up with Stanford Havens to establish Miller-Havens Enterprises, a shop dedicated to building and tuning competitive off-road race cars. The duo quickly earned a reputation for producing race-winning buggies, taking on deep-pocketed factory teams at events like the Mint 400 and Baja 500 with their relatively inexpensive, custom-built single-seaters. But Miller-Havens wasn't just about purpose-built race machines. They also helped popularize one of the most affordable ways to get into off-road racing: the Baja Bug. Starting with the readily available Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle, they transformed the humble economy car into a capable off-road machine by replacing its heavy steel body panels with lightweight fiberglass, raising the suspension, and fitting oversized tires. The result was a rugged, budget-friendly racer that just about anyone could build in their own garage. By the mid-1970s, Havens had departed the business, prompting Miller to rename the operation Drino Miller Enterprises. He continued developing off-road vehicles while expanding into midget and road racing cars, eventually proving his engineering talents on pavement as well, with involvement in racing efforts at both the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
