Thomas Jefferson Gay got his start in the oil business in 1903 when he and W.D. Richardson organized the Richardson-Gay Oil Company in Corsicana, Texas, with a focus on refining crude oil. Gay sold his interest in the company in 1905 and headed for Little Rock, Arkansas, where he established the Gay Oil Company in 1907. The new operation refined crude oil and manufactured a variety of motor oils before expanding into gasoline production. Along with supplying gasoline and lubricants wholesale to area service stations, Gay began opening stations under his own company name. By 1926, Gay Oil Company was operating nine branded stations throughout Little Rock and North Little Rock. Gay remained at the helm of his namesake company until retiring in 1938, when he turned the business over to his son.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
