The Pacific Electric Railway (PE) was, unquestionably, the world’s most extensive interurban system. Its network encompassed nearly 1,100 miles serving Los Angeles and its suburbs of San Bernardino, Long Beach, Pasadena, Santa Ana, Hollywood, Redondo, Pomona, Riverside, Santa Monica, and San Fernando.
