Description
The Patent Machinery Company was established by R. C. Frankie in 1905 on 1st Ave. S. in Seattle, Washington. As the company increasingly focused their work on gearing and gear assemblies, the company was renamed Western Gear Works in 1914, and relocated to a larger facility in 1916, where they remained until 1962 when they built a new waterfront factory complex in Everett. From the world’s largest doors at the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center and the revolving restaurant at the Space Needle, to the radio telescopes at the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex and a series of highly specialized vehicles for the U.S. military, Western Gear became known for making the impossible possible. In 1982, Bucyrus Erie, a manufacturer of earth-moving and mining equipment, Bucyrus Erie of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, bought Western Gear, renaming it BECOR Western. Employees of Western Gear believed the change would be beneficial, but in less than five years, Bucyrus Erie closed or sold all of the former Western Gear divisions, ending a eight decades of history.

Sizing
Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
