Design Description
Batten Heads of Romulus, Michigan, was a specialty performance-engine company known for developing serious racing hardware during the 1970s and 1980s. Operating under names including Batten Heads, Batten Engineering, and Batten Corporation, the company became particularly associated with high-flow cylinder heads and other components for Oldsmobile and Chrysler engines. Its offerings included lightweight aluminum heads for Chrysler LA small-blocks and competition-oriented Oldsmobile V8 heads featuring large ports, raised exhaust passages, and specialized valvetrain arrangements. Batten's engineering expertise extended beyond traditional hot rods and drag racing; the company also became involved in sophisticated racing and experimental engine programs, including development work connected with Oldsmobile's high-speed Aerotech project. Today, original Batten heads are relatively obscure pieces of American racing hardware, but they remain an interesting artifact of the era when independent Detroit-area engineering shops could produce some remarkably exotic equipment for racers chasing more horsepower.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
All sizes are provided in inches! Please note that variations in sizing of up to 1.5 inches are possible.
