The military draft in the United States, also known as conscription, has been used during major conflicts to quickly expand the armed forces. It was first implemented during the Civil War and later during World Wars I and II, when millions of men were required to serve. The most controversial period came during the Vietnam War, when the draft system—based on a lottery—sparked widespread protests and debates over fairness and necessity. In 1973, the U.S. ended active conscription and transitioned to an all-volunteer military, though the Selective Service System still requires most men aged 18–25 to register in case a draft is reinstated. Today, the draft remains a contingency measure, reflecting ongoing discussions about national defense, civic duty, and individual rights. This early '80s design is a tongue in cheek anti-draft statement saying that draft beer is preferable to drafting people, something that I think most people would agree with.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
