When David J. Heerensperger took control of Pay ’N Pak, it was an eight-year-old company generating about $15 million a year. By the time he stepped down two decades later in 1989, he had transformed it into a $400 million-a-year operation. Retirement, however, wasn’t in the cards. Just two months after leaving Pay ’N Pak, Heerensperger incorporated a new company called Eagle Hardware & Garden, reviving the name of a hardware store he had founded in Spokane in 1959. Built around the slogan “More of Everything,” Eagle went big, with stores averaging roughly 120,000 square feet and offering an enormous selection of hardware, building supplies, and garden products. Growth came quickly: Heerensperger took Eagle public within two years, and by 1995 the company was generating around $650 million annually. By 1999, Eagle had expanded across nine western states and appeared poised for even greater growth. Instead, its success caught the attention of East Coast home-improvement giant Lowe’s, which was eager to expand westward. Lowe’s acquired Eagle for roughly $1 billion, and the stores were eventually converted to the Lowe’s name, bringing the Eagle Hardware & Garden brand to an end.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
