The Grand Prix of Long Beach stands as North America's longest-running major street race, a storied event that first roared to life in 1975 as a Formula 5000 test on the sun-baked asphalt of downtown Long Beach, California. What began as a bold gamble by promoters—transforming city streets into a high-speed ribbon around the convention center and aquarium—quickly evolved into legend: hosting the U.S. Grand Prix West for Formula 1 from 1976 to 1983, then shifting to become a crown jewel of Indy racing since 1984. Now in its sixth decade, the tight 1.968-mile, 11-turn circuit delivers relentless drama—hairpin corners, blistering straights topping 180 mph along Shoreline Drive, and unforgiving walls that punish the slightest mistake—while drawing nearly 200,000 fans over a three-day April weekend packed with Indy Series headliners, IMSA sports cars, drifting, and more. It's more than a race; it's a pulsing urban festival where ocean breeze mixes with the sharp scent of burning rubber, history laps the present, and the streets of Long Beach once again surrender to the scream of engines chasing glory. Like all our designs, this one is treated with our signature ‘relic-ing’ process which includes our own secret recipe of hand-painted chipping, cracking, fading, and just the right touch of yellowing to ensure that it looks the part of a true vintage imprint.** We lay these works of art down on premium Bella+Canvas 3001 Unisex Jersey Short Sleeve Tees, one of the softest, best-wearing t-shirts available today, via state of the art direct to garment (DTG) printing which allows us to create a vintage effect that simply can’t be accomplished with other printing methods. Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
