Like countless veterans and young enthusiasts caught up in America's postwar hot rodding craze, Al Jerauld was driven by one thing: making cars faster. In the late 1940s, he opened Jerauld's Speed Shop in National City, California, where local racers could find everything from the latest aftermarket speed equipment to innovative performance parts of his own design. The shop quickly became a cornerstone of San Diego's growing hot rod scene, but Al's passion extended far beyond the sales counter. A dedicated dry lakes racer, he built and campaigned several competition cars, including the legendary Baby Bomb lakester. Powered by a heavily modified 1937 Ford V8-60 Flathead sleeved and destroked to just 88.75 cubic inches, the tiny engine delivered astonishing performance on the salt and dry lakes. Jerauld's engineering talent earned him lasting respect among hot rodders, and many of his handcrafted speed parts—especially his incredibly scarce dual-carburetor 2x2 Y intake manifolds—remain prized collectibles and highly sought-after pieces of hot rod history.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
