KYA 1260 AM signed on the air in 1926, broadcasting from atop San Francisco's Clift Hotel. For more than three decades, the station offered a mix of news, sports, comedy programs, and easy-listening "middle-of-the-road" music. Everything changed in 1958 when KYA introduced rock 'n' roll to part of its daily schedule. The new format proved so popular that rock quickly became the station's primary focus. In 1961, a young programmer and disc jockey named Bill Drake took the reins and revolutionized the station's sound. He stripped away the cluttered, carnival-style presentation common to early rock 'n' roll radio and replaced it with a tight, fast-paced format that would influence stations nationwide. KYA also pioneered its famous weekly Top 30 hits survey that was printed and distributed to record stores and sponsoring businesses throughout the Bay Area. Before long, KYA had surpassed its competitors, earning the nickname "Boss of the Bay" as it became the region's premier source for the latest rock 'n' roll hits.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
