Founded in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1934 by Malcom McLean, McLean Trucking Company quickly relocated to Winston-Salem and began building what would become one of America's largest trucking operations. Through a series of acquisitions during its first decade, McLean established an extensive freight network and helped pioneer the less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping industry. Never one to rest on his laurels, Malcom envisioned an even more revolutionary concept: an intermodal transportation network that would allow freight to move seamlessly between trucks and ships using standardized shipping containers. Federal regulations prohibited him from owning both trucking and shipping companies, so he sold his successful trucking business to pursue his ambitious idea. The gamble paid off. In 1957, McLean launched what would become Sea-Land, revolutionizing international commerce and earning himself a place in history as the father of modern containerized shipping. Meanwhile, McLean Trucking continued expanding, and by its 50th anniversary in 1984, the company operated an impressive fleet of 3,800 tractors and 9,600 trailers from 300 terminals spanning 45 states. Unfortunately, the economic fallout from the late-'70s energy crisis, coupled with the deregulation of the trucking industry, left the once-mighty carrier struggling to stay afloat. In 1986, McLean Trucking finally reached the end of the road, bringing more than five decades of American trucking history to a close.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
