Founded in 1927, Pan Am began with a route between Key West, Florida, and Havana, Cuba. Under Juan Trippe, the airline expanded in the Americas with "Clipper" flying boats. Pan Am was the first to offer a scheduled round-the-world flight and was crucial in developing transpacific and transatlantic routes. It was a launch customer for iconic planes like the Boeing 707 and the Boeing 747 "jumbo jet." At its height, Pan Am flew to 86 countries, and with its blue globe logo and "Clipper" aircraft names, it became a cultural icon. In the '70s, the airline faced challenges from rising fuel costs, increased competition, and then deregulation in 1978. A merger with National Airlines in 1980 was unsuccessful, leading to the sale of assets like its Pacific routes. The bombing of Flight 103 in 1988 also impacted the airline, and just a few years later, Pan Am filed for bankruptcy before ceasing operations on December 4, 1991.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
