Poloron Products, headquartered in New Rochelle, New York, manufactured an eclectic range of products, including lawn ornaments, camping gear, lawnmowers, and snow blowers. Looking to capitalize on the booming snowmobile market, the company introduced its first sleds in 1970: the 295cc Cyclone and the 299cc Tornado. Built at Poloron's lawnmower plant in Michigan City, Indiana, the machines stood out as being proudly American-made at a time when many competitors were importing or producing snowmobiles in Canada. Although Poloron's snowmobiles were well-built and mechanically sound, the company struggled to establish a foothold in the marketplace. Much of the problem came down to marketing. While rival manufacturers showcased their machines carving through deep powder in breathtaking mountain landscapes, Poloron's advertisements relied on obvious studio backdrops and artificial winter sets that failed to capture the excitement of the sport. The uninspired promotional campaigns made the brand difficult to take seriously in an increasingly competitive industry. Sales never reached expectations, and after just two model years, Poloron decided to exit the snowmobile business. In 1972, the company liquidated its remaining inventory in a massive fire sale, bringing its brief venture into the snowmobile market to an end. Today, the Cyclone and Tornado are uncommon survivors from one of the industry's more unusual and short-lived American manufacturers.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size.
